Coach Che Hendrix is currently in his third year at Boerne High School. This is his twenty-first season coaching high school athletics.
Coach Hendrix graduated from Abilene Christian University in December 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management. While at ACU he lettered in baseball for the Wildcats.
Coach Hendrix entered the coaching profession because athletics helped shape and mold his life. Coach “Z”, his high school football coach, was a father figure to him and gave him his first coaching job. Coach Hendrix has always wanted to pay it forward and bless others the way he has been blessed by his coaches.
Before coming to Boerne, Coach Hendrix was the Head Football Coach and Campus Coordinator at Frisco Heritage High School. He also coached at Sweetwater, W.T. White, Houston Westside, and Justin Northwest high schools. During his career, Coach Hendrix has also been a head baseball coach and has assisted in track, basketball, softball, wrestling, and soccer.
Since arriving in Boerne, the Greyhounds have been busy on the field. In Hendrix’s first season 2018, the Greyhounds split a co-district championship and won their first playoff game in fifteen years. The 2019 Greyhounds posted a playoff win as well. In 2020, the football team won their first outright District Championship, the first since 2005. They went on to win two playoff games and they advanced to the regional round.
Coach Hendrix is equally as proud of his team’s performance in the classroom. Thirty-one players have been selected to the Academic All State Team in the past 3 seasons, and this year’s team GPA was 95.11!
Coach Hendrix is married to Lindsey who teaches P.E. at Curington Elementary School. They have 3 sons: Houston, Hutson, and Hank. The Hendrix family is excited to be part of such a great community.
