STEWART
Head Tennis Coach
Coach Stewart is entering his 18th year of teaching and coaching, and is excited to begin year 3 as a Greyhound! He grew up with his father being a high school tennis coach, so he's been around HS tennis his entire life. After high school, he played tennis at Hardin Simmons University for 2.5 years, then transferred and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2004 with a degree in Kinesiology - Sports Management. After teaching tennis at country clubs in Plano and Lubbock, he made the move to education and hasn’t looked back. He was able to coach with his dad in Bryan, then became head coach in Groesbeck, Granbury, and most recently, Harlan HS in San Antonio. Coach Stewart is very involved in the Texas tennis community as a former President and current board member of the Texas Tennis Coaches Association. He has also served on USTA committees, and had the honor of coaching 14 state qualifiers in various UIL classifications, and claimed his first state title in Boys Doubles in 2023 as well as Team Tennis Silver in Fall of 2022. He and his wife, Jana, have been married since 2007. They have two beautiful daughters, Elliott (11) and Charley (7). Go Hounds!
